The CD2 Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Sand Point Beach in Prior Lake was a huge success and enjoyed by over 100 attendees.
Special thanks to our keynote speaker, poet, writer and activist Dr. Terresa Hardaway; for the excellent music by The Tangents and Dean Harrington; and the inspiring dancing by the Step with Soul company.
And a big thank you to the CD2 Juneteenth Organizing Committee led by our Outreach and Inclusion Officer, Janeen Dednam-Wright.

DFL State Convention – May 30th, 2026
Program featured at the DFL State Convention on May 30th, 2026. The video addresses the trauma of what has happened in our state over the past two years, including the tragic deaths in the Annunciation church/school shooting, ICE and the murder of two Minnesotans, and the horrific assassinations of the Hortmans. It also honors the heart of the party, which includes our amazing leaders who have passed (such as elected officials and party activists). If you want to learn about some amazing people in our party, here’s your chance!

Minnesota showing the country how it’s done!

Rolling Stone Magazine – March 4th, 2026
Thank you to Rolling Stone for publishing a remarkable profile on the inhumane tactics of ICE in Minnesota’s suburbs — and the incredible ways Minnesotans in Shakopee (including our State Representative Brad Tabke HD54A) have stood up to protect our communities.

Our U.S. House Representative
Angie Craig won Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District in 2018 and flipped a district that was held by the GOP for 18 years. She has steadily increased her margin of victory in each election cycle and won in 2024 by over 13%. Angie is now running for the U.S. Senate to replace Tina Smith.
DFL CD2 endorsed Matt Little to run for Angie’s seat at our convention on May 9th, 2026 in Burnsville.
Meet our DFL state legislators in CD2:
Minnesotans have never waited for someone else to step up. Over the past few months, we’ve seen people across the state show up for their neighbors — rallying, organizing, and making their voices heard when it mattered most. It’s a reminder that when something isn’t right, Minnesotans come together and take action.
But a lot of people have been asking us the same thing: What can I do now? Whether you’re ready to get out and phone bank or just want to grab coffee with DFL organizers and advocates, there are plenty of ways to be part of the work shaping Minnesota’s 2026 election season right now.
Click the button below to fill out the form, and the DFL team will reach out to help you find the right fit.
Some wise words from our Party Founder (from the UMN Humphrey School of Public Affairs):
